I have been helping families buy and sell homes since 1985. During that time there certainly have been some ups and downs in the real estate market. The horrendous high mortgage interest rates in the early 1980s. The meteoric rise in house prices during the late 1980s that was followed by the crash in 1990. It took until the year 2000 for house prices to regain their 1990 prices! However, the long term upward trend of home prices makes owning a home one of the best investments you can make.
I have built two of my own homes over the years and helped others to build theirs. I have done the usual series of jack-of-all-trades work in wiring, plumbing, wall boarding, roofing, carpentry, landscaping and concrete work. So, I feel I know what goes into a house building. I am a trained Canadian engineer.
As a hobby I am a private pilot and have flown twice from the Toronto area to British Columbia and the Yukon in my single engine Cessna 172.
